A Generator Is Only As Reliable As The Service Behind It
Maintenance, repairs, and remote monitoring for standby generators across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
We service most major makes and models, even if we did not install it.
Your Generator Spends Its Life Outdoors.
Your generator spends its life outdoors. It sits through rain, snow, ice, and heat, and then it has to start on the one day the power goes out. What determines whether it does is not the brand on the enclosure. It is the care it receives in between.
Corrigan Generators maintains, repairs, and monitors standby systems for homeowners and businesses across our service area. Whether you want a plan in place before storm season or you have a system that is not working right now, our licensed electricians and certified generator technicians are ready to help.
Why Regular Maintenance Matters
Power outages are unpredictable. Your generator should not be. Consistent service reduces the risk of:
Failure during the outage you bought the system for
Expensive repairs that a routine visit would have caught early
A shortened equipment lifespan
A voided manufacturer warranty
In more than twenty years of servicing these systems, the single clearest predictor of how long a generator lasts is how well it has been maintained. A well-maintained unit routinely reaches fifteen years and beyond. We still service systems we installed over twenty years ago, and some of those customers are now on their second generator with us.
What We Offer
Routine Maintenance Plans
Scheduled service that keeps your system ready year-round. Systems with remote monitoring are serviced annually. Systems without monitoring are serviced twice a year, at six months and twelve months, because without monitoring there is no other way to know how the generator has been performing between visits.
Repairs and One-Time Service
Something wrong right now? We diagnose and repair most major makes and models, even if we did not install the system. We are certified to perform warranty repairs for Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, and Generac.
Remote Monitoring
Monitoring gives us a direct view of your generator, so problems surface before an outage does. Monitoring comes standard on every system we install and can be added to many existing units, including those installed by another company.
New Customer Generator Inspections
Just bought a home or a property with a generator already on site? We perform a full inspection and give you a clear picture of what you have, what condition it is in, and what it needs going forward. Service plan pricing is based on your system, since air-cooled and liquid-cooled units and different kilowatt ratings require different work. We will quote yours directly.
What Happens During A Service Visit
A service call is not a look and a signature. Here is what our technicians actually do at your generator.
Battery and Starting System - We check battery voltage and cold cranking amps, because a generator that cannot crank cannot help you.
Fuel Delivery - We verify gas pressure and fuel supply to the unit, and we check the gas lines for leaks. We find leaks homeowners had no idea were there, and we tell you about them.
Live Performance Testing - We start and run the system and confirm that voltage and frequency output are where they should be.
Interior Cleaning - We clear debris out of the enclosure, which is where problems quietly begin on a unit that sits outdoors year after year.
Exterior Care - We clear back landscaping that has crowded the unit and wipe down the enclosure before we leave. You invested in this equipment. It should look like it.
If our schedule ever runs behind because of storm demand, we extend your service contract rather than charge you for months we did not deliver.
Remote Monitoring Changes What Service Can Do
Traditionally, a generator problem is discovered the moment you need the generator. Monitoring removes that gap.
With monitoring in place, we see your system run its weekly exercise and we see it when it reports a fault. Our team reviews those alerts daily. We regularly call customers about a problem they were completely unaware of, and in many cases we have already corrected it by the time we call. Ahead of major storms, we verify that systems are ready rather than waiting to hear from you afterward.
Monitoring is included on every generator we install. For systems already in place, including those installed by another company, monitoring can usually be added. The subscription is folded into your annual service plan, so there is a single renewal to keep track of rather than two.
We Stand Behind The Equipment We Service
When a manufacturer warranty issue comes up, we handle the claim. You should not have to negotiate with a manufacturer over equipment we installed or maintained.
When you call with a problem, our goal is to solve it, not to bill for a visit. If something can be resolved over the phone, our technicians will walk you through it and save you the service call. If it needs a technician on site, we schedule one.
And when severe weather moves through, we answer. During one spring storm, our team fielded 235 calls between Friday evening and Monday morning and worked through every one of them.
Brands We Service
Corrigan Generators is a certified dealer and service provider for Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, and Generac, and we are certified to perform installation, service, and warranty repairs on all three. Our technicians are trained across the full lineup and recertified every year.
We also service and repair most other major generator brands, whether or not the system came from us.
What Our Customers Say
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. We service and repair most major makes and models regardless of who installed the system, and in many cases we can add remote monitoring to it as well.
-
Systems with remote monitoring are serviced once a year. Systems without monitoring are serviced twice a year, at six months and twelve months, because monitoring is what closes the gap between visits.
-
We check battery voltage and cold cranking amps, verify gas pressure and check the lines for leaks, simulate an outage and confirm voltage and frequency output, clear debris from inside the enclosure, clear back any landscaping crowding the unit, and wipe down the exterior and reset to factory specs.
-
In most cases, yes. Older systems may report less detail than a new installation, but you and our team will still receive alerts when the system has a problem.
-
Start with a new customer generator inspection. We evaluate the system, tell you its condition and what it will support, and lay out what it needs going forward so you are not guessing about equipment you inherited.
-
That depends almost entirely on maintenance. Fifteen years is a strong run, and well-maintained systems often go longer. We are still servicing units we installed more than twenty years ago.
-
Yes. We are certified for warranty repairs on Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, and Generac, and we manage the claim on your behalf.
-
Call our office at 502-267-4600. If the issue can be resolved over the phone, we will walk you through it. If not, we will get a technician to you.
