The Same Family You Already Know
Corrigan Generators is the generator division of Corrigan Electric that has been operating since 20024, family owned in Louisville since 1995 now with it’s own identity.
Same people, same licensed electricians, same phone number.
Corrigan Electric Opened in 1995
Corrigan Electric opened in 1995 as a family business in Louisville, Kentucky. Thirty plus years later it is still family owned and operated, now under second generation leadership, serving homeowners, businesses, and builders across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Corrigan Generators is the part of Corrigan that has been installing and servicing standby generators since 2004, brought under its own name so the people who need backup power can find us.
We Are Not New To This
For years, generators were something customers discovered about us by accident. An electrician would be in a home for something else, notice a generator in the yard, mention that we service them, and hear the same response every time: I had no idea you did that.
That is the reason for Corrigan Generators. Not a change in direction, and not a new line of business. A part of our company that has grown steadily for two decades, finally given a name of its own.
The team is the same. The licensed electricians and certified technicians who have been installing and maintaining these systems are the same people who will show up at your property. And Corrigan Electric continues exactly as it always has, for every other electrical need you may have.

Trained, Licensed, And Kept Current
A licensed electrician is on every installation we perform, and our service and repair work is handled by certified generator technicians. That is not a marketing position, it is how the company is built.
Our generator technicians complete manufacturer certification for Briggs & Stratton, Generac, and Kohler, and renew that certification every year, the same way an electrical license is renewed. James trains every generator technician on our team directly before they work on a customer's system.
Across the company, we run weekly and monthly safety training and annual continuing education, and we train the next generation of licensed electricians in house through the Corrigan Career Academy. Many of our apprentices come from the schools and youth programs we work with.
How We Work
Licensed Electricians on Every Installation - Not unlicensed crews, and not a subcontractor you have never met. Service and repairs are handled by our certified generator technicians.
Honest Recommendations - We size systems to what your property requires. We are not looking to sell you more than you need.
No Commission Pressure - Our people are not paid to upsell you, and we do not use incentive pricing tactics.
We Stay After the Install - We still service systems we installed more than twenty years ago, and we handle manufacturer warranty claims on your behalf.
Recognized Work - Corrigan Electric has been recognized on a national level by the Independent Electrical Contractors for excellence in residential electrical construction.
Rooted In This Community
We live and work here, and most of the work we are proudest of never shows up on an invoice.
For more than fifteen years, Corrigan has donated the labor and material for the Norton Charity House build. We also wire playhouses for auction through the Home Builders Foundation and YouthBuild, and sponsor events and support drives for local schools and organizations. We work with the Academies of Louisville, Jefferson County and Bullitt County schools, and KentuckianaWorks to show students that a career in the trades is worth pursuing. We are also active members of the J-Town Chamber of Commerce, the Independent Electrical Contractors, and the Building Industry Association.
When storms and disasters have hit this region, we have shut the company down for the day and gone to help. That is not something we advertise. It is just what you do when a place is your home.
