Keep Your Business Open When the Power Goes Out
Standby generator installation and service for businesses across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Your first step is a site evaluation at your property, scheduled around your business hours.
An Outage Does Not Just Turn Off The Lights
An outage does not just turn off the lights at a business. It stops transactions, spoils inventory, shuts down equipment your customers are depending on, and sends people home. A standby generator starts automatically when utility power fails and keeps your operation running until it returns.
Corrigan Generators designs, installs, and maintains backup power systems for businesses across our service area. We are the generator division of Corrigan Electric, a family owned electrical contractor that has served Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 1995, with licensed electricians on every installation.
Businesses We Serve
We install and service backup power for a wide range of local businesses and organizations, including:
Medical and Dental Offices
Restaurants and Food Service
Retail and Small Commercial Buildings
Office Buildings and Professional Practices
Churches and Nonprofits
Senior Living and Care Facilities
Every operation has different priorities during an outage. A dental practice is protecting patient care and refrigerated supplies. A restaurant is protecting inventory and a night of service. A church may be the place its neighborhood turns to when the power is out for days. We size your system around what your operation actually has to keep running.
What We Handle
System Selection and Sizing - We evaluate your building, your equipment, and your priorities, then recommend a system built around them.
Installation by Licensed Electricians - Every installation is completed by licensed electricians who understand commercial code requirements.
Transfer Switch Installation - Your system transfers to generator power automatically when the utility drops, and transfers back when it returns.
Permitting and Inspection Coordination - We handle local code requirements and manage the inspection process for you.
System Testing - We test the completed system under load and confirm it performs the way we told you it would.
Ongoing Service and Monitoring - Scheduled maintenance, and remote monitoring keep the system ready between outages.
Our Process: What To Expect
Request Your Appointment - Call our office or submit a request online. A member of our team follows up to schedule your site evaluation at a time that works around your operation.
Site Evaluation and Sizing - A Corrigan project manager walks your property with you, reviews your electrical service, gas service, and existing equipment, and works with you to identify what has to stay powered during an outage.
Detailed Recommendation - We recommend the system that fits your building and your operation, and we explain clearly why we selected it.
Written Proposal - You receive everything in writing, with a clear scope and a clear price, before any work begins.
Approval, Order, and Scheduling - Once your order is placed, we provide the lead time for the system you selected. When the equipment arrives, our office contacts you to set installation dates.
Installation and Walkthrough - We set and connect the system, complete the electrical work, request inspection, and test it. Then we walk your team through how it operates and what to expect when it runs.
The Brands We Install
Corrigan Generators is a certified dealer and service provider for Briggs & Stratton, Generac and Kohler, and we are certified to install, service, and perform warranty repairs on all three. Systems are available in air-cooled and liquid-cooled configurations, sized to the demands of your building.
During your site evaluation, we walk you through the differences that matter to your decision, including warranty terms, sound levels, and manufacturer lead times.
Service That Keeps The System Ready
A generator that has not been maintained is not backup power. It is equipment sitting in your parking lot.
Every system we install generally includes remote monitoring and the first year of service. If your generator has a problem, our monitoring system notifies us before you may realize anything is wrong. Our staff will reach out, explain what the notification means, and schedule a visit. In some cases the problem can be handled through the monitoring system and corrected long before you hear from us. Ahead of major storms, we verify that systems are ready.
We also service and repair business generators we did not install, and monitoring can usually be added to an existing system.
Why Businesses Choose Corrigan
Licensed Electricians on Every Installation - Not unlicensed crews and not a subcontractor you have never met. Service and repairs are handled by our certified generator technicians.
Certified for Every Brand We Carry - Installation, service, and warranty work across all three lines, performed by technicians who are trained and recertified annually.
Sized to Your Operation - We recommend the system your building actually needs rather than the largest one available.
Code Compliant and Inspection Ready - We manage permitting and inspection so your system is approved and documented.
Responsive When It Matters Most - During one spring storm, our team fielded 235 calls between Friday evening and Monday morning and worked through every one of them.
A Full Service Electrical Contractor Behind You - Corrigan Electric handles commercial electrical work of every size, so your generator contractor is also the team that can take care of everything else in the building.
What Our Customers Say
Frequently Asked Questions
-
It depends on what has to keep operating. Refrigerators, point of sale systems, medical equipment, lighting, heating and cooling, and security systems all carry different demands. We evaluate your building and your equipment during the site visit and size the system to what your operation requires.
-
Yes. A standby system senses the loss of utility power, starts automatically, and transfers your building over. When utility power returns, it transfers back and shuts down.
-
Most of the installation happens outside the building and does not interrupt operations. There is a period during the electrical connection when power has to be off. We schedule in advance and suggest acquiring a portable generator for the day for least amount of interruption.
-
We do not publish pricing, because it depends on what your operation needs to keep running, where the system can be placed, and what your building already has in place. After the site evaluation you receive a written proposal with the full scope and cost, and nothing is committed until you approve it.
-
Yes. Permitting and inspection requests are part of every installation we perform.
-
Yes. We service and repair most major makes and models regardless of who installed the system, and in many cases we can add remote monitoring to it.
-
Natural gas or propane, connected to the supply already serving your property. There is no fuel to store or refill.
