Electrical Services by Corrigan Electric
Corrigan Generators is the generator division of Corrigan Electric. The same family company handles the rest of your electrical work, too.
One Family Company for Your Generator and Everything Else
Corrigan Electric opened in Louisville in 1995 and is still family owned and operated, now under second generation leadership. Our generator work grew out of that company, and in October 2026 it got a name of its own so people looking for backup power could find us more easily.
Nothing else changed. The licensed electricians who install your generator work for the same company that rewires kitchens, upgrades panels, installs EV chargers, and wires new homes and commercial buildings across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. One phone number reaches all of it. Here is a look at the electrical work Corrigan Electric handles.
Residential Electrical Services
Electrical Repairs and Troubleshooting
Breakers that keep tripping, outlets that stopped working, lights that flicker or dim, and wiring damaged by age, water, storms, or pests. A licensed electrician finds the cause, explains what is wrong and what it will take to fix, and makes the repair once you approve it.
Panel Upgrades and Service Improvements
Older panels and fuse boxes were not built for today's appliances, HVAC systems, hot tubs, and EV chargers. Corrigan Electric evaluates your home's electrical demand and upgrades the panel and service to current code when the home needs more capacity, or when an insurance company or inspection requires it.
In-Home Wiring and Dedicated Circuits
New outlets and switches, full-room rewiring, dedicated circuits for equipment like water heaters, sump pumps, and HVAC systems, custom wiring for hot tubs and fireplaces, low-voltage and data wiring, and whole-home surge protection. Every job is done to code by a licensed electrician.
Remodel and Addition Wiring
Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and room additions all change what a home's electrical system has to carry. Corrigan Electric reviews your plans, relocates and adds circuits to fit the new layout, adds the lighting and protection the space requires, and coordinates with you or your general contractor from rough-in through final trim.
Lighting and Smart Switches
Interior and exterior lighting, recessed and under-cabinet lighting, ceiling fans, motion and dusk-to-dawn security lighting, and smart dimmers, timers, and app-controlled switches. Corrigan Electric installs fixtures you choose or helps you plan the lighting for a room.
EV Charger Installation
Level 2 home charging stations and Tesla Wall Connectors, with the dedicated 240-volt circuit, any panel work the charger requires, and permitting handled for you. Corrigan Electric is a member of the Eaton Certified Contractor Network and installs most major charger brands, in the garage or outdoors.
Emergency Electrical Service
A panel that smells like burning or feels hot, sparks or smoke from an outlet, water near wiring, or a storm that knocked out power to part of the house.

Commercial Electrical Services
Corrigan Electric works with business owners, property managers, builders, and general contractors on commercial work of every size. That includes service repairs, upgrades, and system expansions; electrical remodels and tenant build-outs; lighting retrofits and energy-efficient upgrades; code and fire marshal compliance updates; added capacity for equipment such as forklift chargers; EV chargers for employees and the public; and preventative maintenance and emergency service. Every commercial crew is led by a licensed electrician who understands permits, inspections, and working in an occupied building.
New Home Construction
Corrigan Electric wires custom, semi-custom, and multi-family homes for builders and homeowners, from the main panel and service setup through rough-in, trim, and final walkthrough. That includes lighting and smart controls planned before the drywall goes up, structured cabling and entertainment pre-wiring, EV charger readiness, and generator-ready panels for a future standby system. Corrigan Electric has been recognized nationally by the Independent Electrical Contractors for excellence in residential electrical construction.
Where Electrical and Generator Work Meet
Many generator projects touch the rest of a home's electrical system. An older panel may need an upgrade before a standby system goes in. A new home can be built generator-ready so the system can be added later. A remodel that adds central air can change the size of the generator you need. Because Corrigan Generators and Corrigan Electric are the same company, the same licensed electricians handle both sides of the job, and you deal with one team from start to finish.
