Corrigan Generators Is Here: Same Family, Same Team, Now With Its Own Name

Who is Corrigan Generators?

Corrigan Generators is the generator division of Corrigan Electric, the family owned electrical company that has served Louisville, Kentucky, and Southern Indiana since 1995. We have installed and serviced standby generators since 2004, and now that work has a name of its own, along with a website built just for backup power.

Same family. Same team. Same phone number. If you have called Corrigan before, you already know us.

Why does Corrigan's generator work have its own name now?

Because too many people did not know we did it. For years, customers found out about our generator work by accident. One of our electricians would be at a home for something else, notice a generator in the yard, mention that we service them, and hear the same response: "I had no idea you did that."

Our generator work has grown steadily for more than twenty years. Giving it a name of its own makes it easier for homeowners and businesses looking for backup power to find us. It is not a change in direction, and it is not a new line of business. Corrigan Electric continues exactly as it always has for every other electrical need.

What does Corrigan Generators do?

We sell, install, service, and monitor standby generators for homes and businesses across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. A standby generator sits permanently outside, senses an outage, and starts on its own. A transfer switch moves your home or building onto generator power, then moves it back when the utility returns. The system runs on the natural gas or propane already serving your property, so there are no cords to run and no fuel to haul.

Our generator work covers:

  • Home standby generators, sized for whole home coverage or essential circuits

  • Business generators for medical and dental offices, restaurants, retail, office buildings, churches and nonprofits, and senior living and care facilities

  • Routine maintenance plans, repairs, and one-time service

  • Remote monitoring

  • New customer generator inspections for anyone who buys a property with a generator already on site

  • Manufacturer warranty claims, handled on your behalf

Which generator brands does Corrigan Generators sell and service?

We are a certified dealer and service provider for Briggs & Stratton, Generac, and Kohler, and we are certified to sell, install, service, and perform warranty repairs on all three.

  • Briggs & Stratton is our primary line and the system we install most often. Corrigan is one of the top Briggs & Stratton dealers in the country and a PowerProtect dealer, an Elite level earned by only a select group of dealers. Select models carry a full ten-year warranty.

  • Generac offers the widest range of the three, in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled configurations.

  • Kohler is a line we serviced for years before we began selling and installing it. Residential systems carry a five-year limited warranty, with extended coverage available.

Our team is certified by each manufacturer and recertifies every year. We also service most other major makes and models, including systems we did not install.

How does Corrigan decide which generator a home needs?

Sizing comes first, and the brand follows. A Corrigan project manager walks your property with you, reviews your electrical panel, gas service, and existing equipment, and identifies a safe, legal place for the unit. Then we recommend a specific system and explain clearly why we selected it.

We recommend only what your home truly needs. In many cases, that is a smaller system than the homeowner expected. Nobody here is paid to sell you more, and we do not use incentive pricing.

What comes with every Corrigan generator installation?

Every system we install includes:

  • Remote monitoring. We see your generator run its weekly exercise, and we see it when it reports a problem.

  • The first year of service and monitoring. Maintenance begins before you have to think about it.

  • A cold weather kit. Oil warmers and battery warmers on every unit, a standard we adopted after a severe cold snap in 2016.

  • A solid pre-formed concrete pad set on a bed of gravel. Solid concrete, not composite.

We also stay after the install. We still service systems we put in more than twenty years ago, and some of those customers are now on their second Corrigan generator.

Does Corrigan Generators install generators for businesses?

Yes. An outage at a business stops transactions, spoils inventory, and sends people home. We design, install, and maintain backup power for local businesses and organizations, in air-cooled and liquid-cooled configurations sized to what the operation has to keep running.

For business installations, we handle transfer switch installation, permitting and inspection coordination, and testing under load. Because Corrigan Electric is the same company, the team behind your generator can also take care of the rest of the electrical work in your building.
